Default lsvtec low comp vs gsr stock??

if i get this gsr teg(88,000) im wonderin 1 of 2 things..i could either swap the gsr block/head and install my lsvtec low comp(srp pistons/eagle rods) motor(800miles on bottom end) or keep the gsr setup..either way itll be booster..obviously with the lower comp i could boost more later ...which would you do..would you hassle with swapping the motor out and possibly loosing value since the gsr motor would be sold? or keep it and boost it and be happy with 270-300whp?!?!?(and hope it holds up hehe)

thanks for any replies..good info will be rep'd

ya u can make quite a bit of money sellin that ls bottom end u got. boost the gsr n save the money to build that one. u could even use the pistons outa ur ls bottom end if theyre in good shape (wouldnt re use them if u drove the car for a while tho). ls vtecs are great if done right tho. but the gsr is already in the car n it would b a lot less hassle later. and yes a 98 teg is 0bd2. u can get a conversion harness n use ur obd1 ecu, but im not entirely sure about the dizzy. gl with the build. hope it works!

The obd2 dizzy is fine to use with an obd1 ecu. Only obd0 dizzy's need to be changed out with obd1 ecu's. An lsvtec done right is just as good as any other built motor. I actually prefer ls cranks to gsr/type r cranks.
