sputtering problems
I have a 2005 honda crv, when accellerating up the on ramp to I-75 at half throttle, and try to take off from this point, it almost coughs and seems like it is starving, then it kicks to take off but repeats the starving problem and then opens up like it has a turbo. no codes are in the computer to check and when the service rep went for a ride , nothing happened , then two miles down the road , cough ! is there an old remedy to clear this ? thanks for your help

so it only does this when your accelerating ?or when your driving at a constant speed? when it "coughs" does it completely lose power or does it still accelerate but slowly?

it does this from about half pedal , maybe still in second gear , and I need to increase speed to merge onto the interstate , it doesnt go , doesnt pick up speed , so I ease up on the pedal and it coughs , then it starts to go but still hesitates , with no acceleration , then it jolts into high rpms and/or a lower gear and I'm going , its like having a turbo , ? ? ?

the solution I have is to write honda , I use to turn wrenches on the old stuff but this new gotta have a computer to work on cars car , they do regular maintz along with oil chg while its under warranty , but with no codes showing up on thier testing equipment , I dont no what to tell ya

With it running, spray wd40 around the gaskets of the intake.
If it stops the cough, it was a vacuum leak. Replace the gasket.-Bob
