last night i was driving home when my check engine light came on. so i pulled over and turned off the car, then checked everything out and it looked OK so i turned car back on and c/e light went off but my speedo stopped working. I have checked the VSS and the piece inside is still good. my question is do you think its a bad ground? bad wire to the VSS or just a bad gauge?

 

sounds to me something is def wrong in that area try takeing a ride down the block and downshifting a couple times the light should come on ..

my buddy has a crx and has his vss unpluged and his light only come on after he down shifts something in the ecu only pops it when down shifting def start at the vss ...

it might not be a wire problem maybe just a faulty vss see if u can brrow a buddys..

 

dont have any friends with a honda in the same gen. (95 civic lx) ima try testing the wires for power with a light tester when it stops raining. Thanks for the help. any other opinions?
