I found that my knock sensor was never hooked up and I am getting a code 23. I wired one up and plugged it into the broken one I have in the block and the car would not rev past 4k.

There is a loud ticking coming from that area, and I was thinking maybe the knock sensor is not able to get rid of it so that is why I can here it.

I thought it was a valve so I checked them all and checked the lash and there fine. It also does not tick all the time, and if you rev it and it was the valves smacking you would here it.

I also have this plug left over and no home LMK if you know what it is????

 

Ok found out what the plug it for, just need to know about the knock......

 

I did a little serching and found that I can eather chip it, ground it, or get a new one. This is also a reason my car is running a little funny and when I pluged it in it went into limp mode.

I would guess it would be cheeper to chip the ECU then to get another KS?

 

it would be cheapest to ground it. it would be healthier to bite the bullet and buy a new one.

 

I am going to have it chipped out, it's cheeper.
