as far as the top end, just like devil's advocate said, it depends on what ever the manufacturer of the cam, springs and rest of valve train, made them to handle. some set up's are made to pull hard up past 9 grand, BUT REMEMBER THE BOTTOM END!, Z6's have weak rod bolts and not the best oiling system!
at the very least, you need to have ARP rod bolts and use a real good synthetic oil! it would be lots better to run after market pistons ( stock one's have weak ring lands), good light wieght after market rods (stock ones are weak lol) , and mod the oiling system. i think there are a few threads in here on what you need to do for modding the oil system, if not, there are some good ones in Dseries.org .
single cams can be pretty nasty if ya build em right! i've beat down plenty of B series swaps with some of mine! especially B16's!!! lmao no matter what all the swap whores in here say, B16's are slow!!!!!!!! unless ya build a set up so that you shift at around 10 grand, but that costs big$'s!!! you can build your sohc to run just as good for lots less than that! plus you dont have the cost of the initial swap too!

oh and yep, i did the same thing with the p/s in my ugly ol teg. i've been running it like that for a few years with no problems, but i do squirt a lil bit of p/s fluid into the rack every now and then just to keep it lubed inside

+1
i'm thinking that sohc zc cams are a lil bit diff. grind, just like they are in the dohc zc's. not a huge diff. but enough to make a lil more power. lol

good idea! it's always best to build it while still being able to drive your car, and then put it in when it's all ready.

oh, and D series is just another site kinda like this one, but specifically for D series honda's. lots of good tech threads in there! alotta BS ones too! lol
