I have a 96 integra and im trying to put together a home made turbo kit.

I have a td05 eclipse turbo and there is a wastegate on there. an actuator type.

my question is do I need an external wastegate?

the turbo manifold that I bought has a 38mm flange for a wastegate.

do i really need an external? or can I cap that flange off?

 

if it has an internal wastegate then you dont need an external. just block off that external wastegate hole
