vtec is really just a race cam that kicks in at 5500 rpm. any bigger cam is going to help a turbo out. bigger cams make more power. all the turbo does is cram more air/fuel into the motor. granted i wouldnt put huge all motor cams in my turbo set up bc it wont run rite, but stock vtec cams would help the turbo out. keep in mind u wont b able to run as much boost bc of the higher compression, but that doesnt necessarily mean ull make less power.

keeping vtec will of course give you more power.both have their pros and cons.

imo ls/vtec turbo will produce the best power out of any b series if built properly.

Okay, you know when vtec kicks in it flows more oil through the the head right, well depending on the size of the turbo you might not get the required amount of oil to supply the turbo while in vtec, also it is easier to tune non-vtec because there is not a power band where you have to add more fuel and so forth when the vtec kicks in. Do ya see what I'm saying? Also you could have 10 to 1 compression and still boost, It is just alot more difficult to tune because you have alot less margin of era. The less compression you have (not to low) the more of an area you have to tune. I hope this helps.

Rep me up.

+1 on the above...the vtec will b harder to tune, but its been done so its a mute issue. there are soooo many performance turbo shops that can tune vtec turbo setups now. but the above point is correct.
