Wired new injector clips...now cel
I wired up some new clips that go onto the injectors on my b18a1 because the old ones were fairly beaten up. Well my friend and I found out the ford escorts have the same plug as our hondas except they have clips on the sides of them allowing you to squeeze the plug to release it instead of prying them off with a flat head screw driver. Well we wired the ford plugs onto my harness instead and tucked the harness under the intake manifold. Car starts and runs completely fine through all rpms and idle yet throws a cel. I looked for the code for it and I can't find it. The ecu seems to throw the code for the o2 sensor but I just don't get how it could have went bad. Does anyone think that the ford plugs could cause the cel even though they are just plugs without any kind of resistor in them or anything? Also I did wire them up correctly and they are clipped on correctly if anyone was feeling like asking a stupid question about that.
eh, stupid questions are mandatory though. sometimes people overlook the absurdly obvious, i know i have been victim of this from time to time.
anyways, im lost, you dont know what code its throwing, but its throwing the o2 sensor code?
are you running open header by any chance or an aftermarket header/exhaust? the O2 sensor may not be warming up to operating temperature if it isnt a self heated one.
also, do you know the flow ratings at a given pressure of both sets of injectors? you may have possibly carbon fouled the sensor if too much fuel is getting dumped.
also, was there a change from hi-imp to lo-imp, or vice versa? i know you made mention of resistors, i thought the EF's had resistor boxes on the non-dual point injection cars.

The car has obd0 honda fuel injectors with resistor box. All I rewired were the clips that go on top of the fuel injector because the ford ones are way nicer than the pos honda clips. The car has a airmass header with ractive cat back. I have been running that setup for over a year without a problem. The cel only came on when using the ford clips. I don't see how the clips would throw a cel considering they are just connections and have nothing to do with the resistor box I have wire or the actual injectors.
If theyre all definately wired correctly, then it should have no effect on the O2 sensor. Completely different circuits. Good luck!

yea I know they are different circuits. I am actually not too worried about the cel since the motor runs fine and still pulls strong. I just dont like the light.
