Default Nitrous detonation

Alright heres the deal...65 shot (dry at the moment but going wet within a week)...stock internal b18a1...retard timing 4-5 degrees...colder plugs...still detonating WHY? Anyone have any other pointers for me on this and also I have my timing so far back that it feels like it studders when it takes off and yet it still detonates when running full shot.

standard obd0 b18a1 ecu from 1990...can't remember the code for it and am too lazy to go look at it...I am going to knock the timing back a hair more because it looks like it got bumped forward a little while tightening the bolts down. o and 96ek...its not chipped or tuned so I know thats not the problem.

did you try closing the gap on your plugs. the increased cylinder pressure will blow the spark off the plug at stock gap. i dont have a honda but it is something basic to check. i have a buddy running a 150shot on his stang and it would spit and sputter on the juice. closed the gap from .054 to .045 and it runs great now.

Yeah I sort of did...stock gap is like .044 but I have them running at .040..was thinking about dropping them to .036ish tonight and trying that.

The gap fixed it!!! I could actually bump the timing forward to about 3 degrees retard and it still runs fine. Thanks guys.
