Nitrous detonation
Alright heres the deal...65 shot (dry at the moment but going wet within a week)...stock internal b18a1...retard timing 4-5 degrees...colder plugs...still detonating WHY? Anyone have any other pointers for me on this and also I have my timing so far back that it feels like it studders when it takes off and yet it still detonates when running full shot.
I am soon but I am waiting to get someone to install the fuel line into my fuel rail...I already have the solenoid wired up and everything i ready to go besides that one damn fuel line. Also forgot to mention I am running 93 octane.
standard obd0 b18a1 ecu from 1990...can't remember the code for it and am too lazy to go look at it...I am going to knock the timing back a hair more because it looks like it got bumped forward a little while tightening the bolts down. o and 96ek...its not chipped or tuned so I know thats not the problem.
did you try closing the gap on your plugs. the increased cylinder pressure will blow the spark off the plug at stock gap. i dont have a honda but it is something basic to check. i have a buddy running a 150shot on his stang and it would spit and sputter on the juice. closed the gap from .054 to .045 and it runs great now.
What's your A:F (Air:Fuel)?
