cracked tranny casing.. can i weld it ???

The fix for the hole on some cars would be to cut a plate from aluminum
that will be bigger than the hole, and epoxy it to the casing.
Another race car fix, but cheaper than welding a hole THAT big,
and for sure does not distort the trans internals.-Bob

it can be welded def. the only issue is heat. anything is gonna warp if you get it hot enough, but if the welder can control himself and his heat it shouldnt be a prob at all. it is shitty aluminum but it should still hold without issue, as long as the welder takes his time and doesnt try to do the whole repair at one sitting or something crazy like that
