those polyurethane inserts are only to re-enforce the mounts not a replacement for one that is already bad or worn out. Torque brake the motor and have someone check the movement in the rear mount. Simply inspecting the rear mount and not visually seeing any tears or splits ; but even stress cracks can depelete the effectiveness on a motor mount.


Also if you suspect the shift linkage and extension rod, check and make sure the washers are installed correctly on the transmission end on the rod. Unless noone has messed with this area I don't think its something that would be common. remove the bolt if you have to to inspect the bushing on both ends.

I make solid rubber mounts with polyurethane,
and did the same with the torque link. When I floor it, I want
the power to the wheels NOW, instead of motor flop now, and
power later.

For racing, I make adjustable torque links with heim joints.
A lot different than a rubber mount, and not for everyone.

If you are feeling slop, keep removing mounts, etc until you find the
bad/loose/worn rubber and replace it. You have nothing to lose by doing so. With a manual trans, some cars have *two* links going to the trans, one to shift it and one to hold it in place as you shift it. -Bob
