Default need help!

i am throwing my ELD code, my VSS code, and my o2 sensor heater codes. did some research on it and so far the concensus is to replace the fusebox to fix the ELD, some other people had to do some extra work and find wiring that was shorting out. my plan as of now is going to be buying a new fuse box and trying to hunt down some shorted wiring. anyone else have this problem and know of a possible place to begin looking for shorted wiring, or maybe another fix for it?

A good start is to trace wires/circuits that have blown fuses.

Why replace a fuse box? Educate us. -Bob

replace the underhood fusebox because the electric load detector is built in there is no other way to fix it than replace the whole fuse box that i know of.

ok update. theres a blue plug that sits on the intake manifold bracket, anyone know what those wires are? that seems to be what other people are having to fix, so i believe i will start there. but as i asked does anyone know what is controlled by those wires? its not plugged in to anything, but there is one of those block off plates on it.

thanks

Eric

So what does the electric load detector do specifically?

1.Similar to the fusible link in a domestic car, it pops if
an overload takes place?

Or 2.Cut off all electricity if an overload takes place?

If so, a way around that would be to put in a reset switch
or a manual overide...............or even put in a real
resettable circuit breaker..........maybe even as part of
an anti-theft switch......and mount it under the fuse
box out of sight.

So what does the electric load detector do specifically?
Does the manual give us any insight? -Bob

Electronic Load Detector
measures electrical load - used to determine if the alternator should be in low or high output mode. Since Hondas are running so lean at idle, virtually any load will cause the idle to drop. Even small electrical loads, such as the turn signals, will cause the idle to fluctuate. The electrical load detector (ELD) was added to later model Hondas to monitor for any significant electrical loads. It sends a warning signal to the ECM before the load has a chance to effect the idle. The ECM makes slight adjustments to the idle air control (IAC) valve, injector PW, and ignition timing to compensate for the electrical load.
