what kinda machine work will i need to do, if i want stock bore. i need the block honed right? then i can put in the pistons and rods. and put it back together. im gonna be doing all this while the motor is in the car. how hard is it going to be?

it's possible to rebuild in the car, but it is a sloppy, emergency sort of way to go about it, particularly when honing. Keeping everything clean and doing any needed measurements and the like, makes it not worth it.
Also if you are using factory ls rods there will have to be machining done to either the small end of the rod or the pistons for them to work together. if your looking to bump up your compression and want to avoid the machine work look for some pr3 or p30 pistons
If you are getting brand new forged pistons and rods, you will most likely only need the block honed and the crank micropolished. You may need the block decked if the mating surface of the head is damaged.
amen
