If your on a tight budget and just looking for that ricer sound, just go buy a FART CAN from autozone..
Your not going to get 8-15hp from a $250 exhaust system.

Any EK exhaust will fit doesnt matter what motor you have in it unless its a K-series

And no exhaust will gain 8-15hp on a stock honda, maybe if you get a badass header

not true at all.

the stock D16Y7s all have the cat in the header, and where it meets up with the B-pipe is a welded flange, at a certain angle.

the header for a B-series ( i know its at least B18C and B18B, might be the B16A as well) is not only about two inches too short, but also the flange is off by 90 degrees. i just had this problem.

some aftermarket exhausts, like the tanabe SRM is a little long, and has a non-welded flange, so you can line it up if need be... but anything with a welded flange for the EK hatch will NOT work.

oh, but you are def right about the 8-15 hp, its not gonna happen.

even if you were to use a test pipe and aftermarket header?

i made a mistake.

i thought he had a GSR EK hatch, but he just has a GSR EK.

on the hatchbacks what i said is true, and i would imagine it applies to the DX/LX coupes/sedans as well (with the header/cat combo crap)

if you are talking about the HX/EX/Si coupes/sedans, where they have a full length regular header and an under-cabin catalyst, then you may be right.

sorry for the mix-up.

i just bought a stock hatch exhaust for my EK, and with the B18B and its header (aftermarket) the stocker was 2 inches short and the flange was off by 90 degrees.

if i got a freak header or something, then i could be wrong, but this is how mine worked out....

it is a hatch.sorry for the confusion.but it currently has the single cam piping and once the rpms hit around 3700 it starts to rattle like hell.so I'm just waiting till I build the engine/turbo it to get the exaust since I'm going to need a new one then anyways.no point imo in paying for 2 exaust systems.

i just checked to see what size my pipes where the other day while installing my new sound system , and i noticed the piping that i have on their now is 2.25 size piping, and i was thinkin would it still be about the same effect if i was just too get a muffler..??

Maybe then i can get a Apexi or greddy muffler...
