Overheating problem...advice?
correct. you should do the belt every 60k and the pump every two belts, i.e. 120k, just to be safe.
parts for a belt change are $60 belt and $40-50 water pump, depending on model. labor, if you dont do it yourself, usually runs $300ish...
as for that new, perfectly funcitoning thermostat, is it a Honda piece? i bought a bumper-to-bumper brand cheapo a coupla years ago and had probs with it, replaced it with a OEM Honda one like 3 weeks later and never had another issue. you really cant argue with superior quality...

Just a thought, but have you or a previous owner replaced heater or bypass hoses and perhaps routed them wrong? If you have the heater and bypass hose crossed up, the thermostat won't open (at least not until the engine is red hot. Also, if someone eliminated the bypass or made other mods.
Sounds like one of those "can't be" problems, so I would check this before you start dumping money.

Well, the thermostat was from discount auto. I've put one of these in before a long time ago because my original took a dump and it worked fine. Now that I have this problem with no circulation, I replaced it with another new one just incase. Are the one's from discount good?

If you don't know about the previous owner and as you said, you are not much of a DIYselfer, you don't know if you hoses are right or not. Check a manual for your cooling plumbing diagram and be sure. It's good advice. You don't have to take it, but you are on here asking....
I appreciate the advice, its just that...wouldn't I have had that problem before then if the hoses are wrong? I've owned the car for a year and some months and I haven't had this problem till a couple days ago. Either way, I do have a Haynes manual so I'll check it for the hell of it.
Matter of fact my mechanic did that, after it started getting really hot fluid was coming out, he said something about he doubts its the HG because there's no white smoke coming from the exhaust and that the car runs too smooth for it to be the HG unless there's a really small leak. Something about it could be coming out since there's no circulation for the fluid to keep flowing so when it's getting hot it's coming out of the only availble hole. He didn't rule out that possibility though. Don't take my word for it though, I could be fucking up some of the things he said to me as I don't remember everything he said word for word.
Also, even if it is the HG....shouldn't I be at least getting circulation anyway?
EDIT - Also of course we made sure to check the dipstick for any water down there, and nothing.
