i think its they way i'm gonna go robert. BUT, i will be using the info you provided me with about the gasket and tuning later on towards spring break next year to do it since i can't be without my car for a week and go to college and work. I think this is gonna turn out very well! now if i can just get Hermsfab to finish the manifold i paid for 3 moths ago, i'd be all set!

will stock rods hold that much HP ? i know the weak point on the Cast pistons are the skirts but ive never really looked into OEM rods as ive never used them in a build up. If anything use ARP rod bolts I know the LS has 1mm smaller rob bolts than the GSR ITR i think they are 8mm. if im not mistaken.

They will be fine at 300whp but I is always a good idea to upgrade

Like I said before, do your self a favor and build the motor with pistons/rods the first time so you don't have to tear it apart down the road.

300 whp is a good power range for a street car, but you will eventually want to make more power just because you can. You will then be limited by your rods

I agree. You will want more than 300whp once it's done. Unless you want to see how far you can push stock rods I have seen them fail at 500whp. I have seen them fail at 300whp too

well, the motor has been built and being driven for over a month and a half now, so i'm prolly not gonna pull it out to re-do anything. and i made over 500 hp in my RX-7, so i know the high number feeling, but i'm not going for that. the civic is going to have good strong power, but i also have ac and all the comforts too. i'm not going for king of the streets, just a fun turbo daily driver.
