Will a virgin obd1 gsr ecu go into a limp mode if a knock sensor is not used? Lets say application is ls/vtec.

Just wanting a ecu tuner to confirm my thoughts. Thanks!

 

No, the ecu will throw a knock sensor MIL

Running with any MIL being reported is generally not a good idea.

 

Does it pull timing and add fuel ? Basically very very conservative maps.

MIL ? nvm.........malfunction indicator light.

on my itr i didnt have the knock sensor hooked up when i was running a p30 and i was basically in limp mode car didnt feel the same. You can just get a knock sensor or get a chipped p28 because it doesnt look for the knock sensor peace

 

To my knowledge the knock board will pull ignition timing (according to the research I have read).

I have yet to determin this as I prevent from running into a situation which knock may occur
