fact or bullcrap?
i pretty much figured it was..but was thinkin maybe someone on here had experiences with dh racin stuff..and could say how well it did..so this was a good way of findin out..and mtber came through with awesome first hand info..and thanks to him no way will i even look at that site again.
Let me tell you a little story about D-H racing.
I once had a customer bring me his eg hatchback with a DH racing built h22 that was supposed to be bad to the bone...
We get to the dyno & I check the oil in the vehicle.. The vehicle is about 2 qts low on oil....The customer tops off the oil.
I put the car in the dyno & made a pull, I noticed a shitload of grey/white smoke comming from the exhaust...
The a/f ratios were pretty much right on target... I was like, dude are you sure this motor is new ?
The customer calls David Hickman... David tells the customer that the smoke is normal for a motor which is new...
I told the customer he is full of shit & to look at the power output the motor is making... The motor has massive blowby.
The next couple of pulls, vtec stops working...
The customer is still on the phone with Dave Hickman at this time, dave says vtec is not engaging because we changed the cam timing... SINCE WHEN DOES CAM TIMING EFFECT VTEC FROM ENGAGING ?
We check the oil levels, they are a little low still...
I then check all the wiring again to make sure the wiring is not the vtec activation problem... Everything is fine...
We pull the car off the dyno due to the issue, shortly after the oil pressure light in the dash comes on... At this point you know the motor has less then 4 psi of oil pressure.
(The customer did not have an oil pressure guage).
Moral of the story, David Hickman is a flaming moron & his products are simply scams.
