well if you are d series, i would replace the tranny if i were going to replace my throw out bearing since the trannys are a dime a dozen.... but in order to change the throw out bearing you have to take the tranny off, and when you do that you might as well change the clutch blah blah blah ect. So really think about how much you want to do and how much you have to work with. I have never heard a throw out bearing just on deceleration

did you try lucus oil?
and to change the throwout bearing... u would only need to unbolt the bolts holding the tranny to the motor pop out the axles and slide the tranny away from the motor a few inches... leaving all the mounts inplace, u should be able to get to the throwout bearing like that, i have change many clutches in hondas and found that i could do it this way... rather taking the whole tranny out... i guess in order to do it this way, you would have to have experience of doing it this way

yeah the only way that is going to work is if you already know what you are doing, if this is his first time doing a throw out bearing, then he should remove the entire tranny, not to mention that your way would be a mother fucker if you couldn't get the fork back on correctly

this is my first time doing any clutch work. how difficult is pulling the tranny if i dont have a lift. ive got a bottle jack some ramps some jack stands and a floor jack. is this a drive way job or do i need to take it to some one to have them do it. im pretty mechanically inclined but should i just bring it to some one??

nah its easy, all you need is a jack and jack stands, and if its a d series you don't even need the jack, you can just lift it, they have a write up on how to do it on honda tech, thats what i used the first time i did my clutch, it's pretty easy but there is a lot to it so don't be scared but don't be suprised if it takes you 5-8 hours your first try
