Thus the reason you dont use the LS pistons in a LS/VTEC unless you clay the motor to be 100% sure.(I could be wrong, but I dont think sooo...)
Nah....
You are fine as long as you are not using crazy cams & cam timing :-p

see there U go, I knew that they were a tight fit non the less, and with cams it becomes more of an issue... but whats the fun in not being able to play with bigger cams and adjustments???

Be wise, spend the extra cash on a nice set of aftermarket low comp pistons, and be done with it..

OEM honda ringlandings == Not very strong (miss or hit)

do it right the 1st time or do it 5 more times

Generally the intake valve reliefs are the issue

On most f/i bseries applications there is no need to touch the intake cam timing.

My turbo ls/vtec has been making 280-320 whp depending on boost levels for around a year now. Perfect compression & leak down results to this day.

Exhaust cam timing at -4 deg w/out valve clearance issues...

It really depends on your goals.

For any goals over 325-350whp I would buy pistons/rods if your already rebuilding the bottom end.

Now if you had a stock ls bottom end laying around in mint condition and your goals are 280-300 whp then that is a different story.
