Default Questions questions questions

Alright guys I am new to the whole honda thing, I have always owned dsm's(5 to be exact) (hense the name) before this honda anyways last Monday I bought a 95 EG hatch w/91k origional miles and alot less on the motor, but I know nothing about it! So anyways the car has a D16y8 in it... Derick (Derka on here) told me it's not stock and that it's better than stock but gets spun rod bearings. What else are the good and bad sides of this motor. I know the motor has been built along with the head, although I do not know what parts have been used because when I got the receipts with the car the dumb ass had left the window open smearing everything on them. So is it a safe motor to boost and run around 7-8lbs. on? I'm just having a problem without having any boost since the last 4 cars of mine have all been turbo cars. Anyways I know I am rambling but to sum it up I am introducing me to all the Honda people and wanna know a little about my car. Thanks

Huh ?
The motor has spun rod bearings ?

I wouldnt recommend boosting a high compression motor if it is "built" like you say it is.

nope, no problems. Old engine was up to 185k miles with 8lbs. a little oil out of the breather thats all. Get john ( pherable.net - All about pherable.net) to tune it, and it will be fine!

I have the same motor in my car d16y8 and i wanted to boost it i went to pros about it and found out it is safe to have that engine boosted at 7-8 pounds and if tuned right can be put up to 15 but for daily driving safeer at 7-8 i love my motor i have beat on it drove it hard still runs strong after about 30,000 miles. Speeking of it i think im just about to order my t3/t4 turbo i cant wait any more Q hit me back
