Default CRX on US 19 08.01.06

does anyone know this CRX driver/owner/crx?

Does anyone know whose crx this is? Driver/Owner/TR Member?

I don't understand why people street race especially in these conditions but they do.

Look at the pic of the CRX in that link (page 2) and think about it the next time you want to race somebody in an area where traffic is light, medium or even heavy.

I know the pic of Ian's EG hatch split in 2 on the Beach Line at exit SR 520 stays on my mind constantly. David helped build that car for someone who didn't street race, a chance taken on a midnight drive home is now a life lost.

And what is even more sad is that it hasn't even stopped him from the occasional run.

R.I.P.

If anyone ever wants to go out to the autox course and they don't know anyone out there, I race with the SCCA and BMW Club at Brooksville and sometimes the NASAX Club. Please PM or email me at chitwnbrat@yahoo.com

You want to get addicted to something that is fun and 99.9% more safe then street racing, there you go.

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.

Dont blame this thing on street racing. It was far from what real street racing is about.

in my 5 years of being around the sport i have NEVER heard or seen anyone die from local "real" street racing. What these kids were doing was driving wreckless and stupid and they killed people......hell drunk drivers do that every weekend,

+eleventybillion...everyone that wrecks in a import these days gets blamed for streetracing being the cause ...a few years back an 8yr. old kid got hit at 2:00AM by somebody who was racing, blamed it soley on the people who were racing...but was was an 8 yr. old doing in the street at 2AM? not the best example but even still, what if a car was just passing thru and BAM same thing, minus the racing aspect. that person woulda been scott-free doesnt make sense to me why it all comes back to racing....ive seen 3 accidents related to and caused by actual street racing, and i've been around the scene for close to 8yrs now...

i heard this morning that the people in the rodeo were driving to the hospital because the passenger was having heart conditions. they were flying down us 19 the whole way but still stopping at lights. when they took off and the crx, being cocky i guess, took off with them. the crx lost control hit the rodeo, rodeo started to flip and the crx smashed into whatever.

that's just what i heard from people talking about what they saw on bay news 9.

i read on bay news 9 that the passenger in the crx was having chest problems. that is why the crx was driving fast. he was on his way to the hospital.

+1 ive been it 3 years. And i hate to see people die but stupidity played a huge role in all of this. And whether someone was having chest problems or not they at least should have called 911 to have police escort them or and paramedic to pick them up. But hopefully this is a lesson to all the assholes that wanna drive reckless.

I would love to hear how street racing is legal Jake

I would love to hear that on any given road that nothing can happen , maybe in tim buk too but seriously in conditions that are uncontrolled unlike a track event, which is 99.9% controlable, I would love your explanation on how nothing can happen

At 3 a.m. in the morning going down Patterson Road or New Burger with all the residences that align the road are you honestly going to tell me it is a safe environment? No one on that road could possibly get in there car to go somewhere at any time of the night, right?

At the Bread Factory, 78th Street, Causeway at 3 a.m., Gandy at 2 a.m., 28th St at 2:30 a.m., or even an industrial road are you honestly going to tell me its safe? No truck driver, no employee, no person on their way home could possibly be out at that time right?

Racing is for "track" events. Even when streets are set up for a race like the St Pete Grand Prix or in Longbeach for the grand prix and drift events.

Anything else is simply wreckless driving period.

Unless everyone in a however many mile radius is notified of what is taking place on a Public, Private or Federally owned road or highway, then it is wreckless driving.

Only a sanctioned event deserves the name "race" in it.

All you guys think you're so special because nothing has happened to you because the spot you have picked is so safe ... yea ... okay ... I'll be looking for the posts of what happened and be sad that it did.

I have and had my stupid days, my stupid tempations, my stupid driving and fate has not had anything in for me but that doesn't mean it won't.
