I didnt feel like reading every response but ill give my thoughts.

1. Check to see if you have enough coolant in your system.
2. Check to see if you are low on oil. Sometimes if you are too low on oil it will cause your car to overheat.
3. Pull your thermostat out of the car and take it inside and put it in a boiling pot of water with a thermomiter in it. See if the thermostat pops at the correct temperature. Or in most cases just straight up replace the thermostat they are only 15 bucks or so.
4. Check your Engine coolant temp sensor. Not likely this unless you have CEL illuminated.
5. Water pump may have gone bad. Hopefully this isnt the issue because its a nuissance to replace.

hope this helpls keep us posted if you find out what the problem is.

sounds exactly what happened to me when the water pump went bad on my d16z6. $350 to have a mechanic replace it. It is too much of a pain in the ass for me to do. Basically he said there were a couple of broken fins and it just wasn't moving very much water if any at all. If you're gonna replace the water pump might as well do the timing belt and cam seals too while ur in there. or just drop it off a large cliff and buy a newer engine..Be careful with the radiator too the top caracked on mine (plastic).

If its the water pump then an LS will go in for now since the car is staying basically a reliable (maybe not so) daily driver, right now I just want to take care of my exterior and interior before I do any real swaps, I plan on building a motor before I drop it into the car.

Eh, sucks if its the water pump and if it is then I'll probably just do a easy quick swap.

Still haven't even fucked with the car yet. School > Me.

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.

Replaced thermostat, replaced radiator cap (old one had a broken spring), flushed the coolant and replaced.

Drove the car about 5 miles yesterday and when it started overheating a CEL light came on but its off today. This car is being such a pain in the ass, I think I'll just replace the water pump and the coolant temp sensor at the same time since those are the only things left, and probably flush the system and put in new coolant.

Probably have to replace the head gasket too, got a leak down test so I'm gonna check it out.

And people say that Honda's are reliable

So I took out the thermostat and the car stays at operating temp now, I'm picking up a new motor and probably getting a new radiator/hoses and replacing the whole cooling system so I don't have these issues again.

So yeah, my car hated having a thermostat, now that its out it stays at the correct temperature and the a/c blows cold.

w00t for afro engineering.
