Do coilovers really go bad in about a year on a lowered car?

I've used skunk2 coilovers on all my Honda's and never had any issues in the years they have been in use. I say BS.

I have Tien HA's going on 4 years and they still feel good and never had any problems. I highly recommend them.

Its not that they will FAIL after a year, but if you ride around with your car slammed, it will shorten the life of the actual shocks. If your coilovers fail within a year, then you've got a problem. I had Tein Flex's on my old hatch, i had them cranked all the way down, and it rode awesome.. no problems at all.

COILOVERS ARE USELESS, Unless you actually are using them for what they are intended. You wanna slam your car on its nuts, Fine.
Coilovers were intended for flexability and different conditions for different setups and tracks/road courses. How many of you have owned coilovers, set them and never touched them again.

SO you blew a grand or more on some shit you didn't need. Konis and H&R race springs and some bushings and bracing will do you fine....

Coilovers = Waste of money in MHO.

WHY do you need a 3" drop ? So you can bash the hell out of the underside of your car on Tampas stellar streets, or drag your shit over ever speed bump you come across? Or is it to just "Look" cool?

Like I said. 99% of Coilivers are not used for their intended purpose.

Tein SS are very usefull. I just can't see why people are buying 32 way adj. coilovers with seperate height and pre-load adjustablity when all your gonna do is brag. Bottom line.... buy a suspension that fits what you do with your car.

Well my hatch has some garbage ebay coilovers that aren't too bad, I just need to replace the shocks since the idiot lowered one side, lower than the other and blew the driver side shocks.

I plan on having the car 2 1/2" lower than stock on some 15s so it shouldn't be completely slammed but it shouldn't be riding high either.
