I think its the water pump.....if its not the theromstat or radiator...the only other water problem is the water pump...thats for sure....if waters not flowing through...its the water pump because the water pump pushes the water through the radiator and engine...if its not working....water doesnt circulate and causes it to over heat...yep....I also have a prelude....and had the same problem...just replaced it 3 months ago..and now..its working fine....Check it out....I think thats the problem

if it over heats in a matter of only 10mins there is a bigger proplem you sure you got good ground wires on the motor.this will cause it to overheat but in 10mins there is a problem

Hey guys, thanks for all your input. Turns out the radiator was clogged. I put a chemical flush in the radiator and back flushed the radiator from the engine. I think the back flush did the trick. So now it's driving good...finally. I'll see what comes out of the radiator like tomorrow.

Many times the lines (some metal, some rubber, i'm not sure what honda uses) tend to rip, rupture, and basically just leak.

Have you checked under the car for any vomitations of coolant?

If there is, you're going to want to get all those coolant lines replaced, otherwise it sounds a lot like water pump corrosion/failure or temp gauge is funky.

Ugh, well good luck.

LOGIC? You seriously want to invoke logic in a conversation about fake hijackings, missiles hitting the pentagon, and bombs planted throughout the world trade center? I thought it was a given that logic was checked at the door when entering one of these threads.

you can get the chemical flush from any parts store. I went to advanced auto parts and just picked it up off a shelf.

oh I forgot to tell you also...one of my dad's friends knows a lot about cars and he said after you run the chemical flush for a couple of days you should mix water and baking soda and put that in your radiator and run it with that mixture...the baking soda neutralizes all the acids from the chemical flush. I didn't run the baking soda for like 2 days like he said...all I did was put it in and left the car in idle for like 10 minutes while revving the engine a couple of times...then I flushed the raidiator completely again and filled it up with coolant and water. I figured it was better than nothing but I just am done flushing that radiator.
