Default Help...car won't start.

My car was running fine until suddenly it wouldn't start after stopping at the gas station. Car doesn't even crank. It's like trying to start without stepping on the clutch pedal. Push start works. Checked fuses, battery's good, starter's good. Are there wires around the fuse box under the steering wheel that I should check? Thanks in advance.

What kinda car and how many miles? How do you know the starter is good?
Is the little wire with the spade terminal (starter signal wire) attached at the starter?

I am getting 12V there at the starter. I took the starter off and had Autozone test it and they said it was good. Since it was an aftermarket starter I even took off the starter from my boys car and tried it on mine but still doesn't crank. It's a GSR motor swap into an EG hatch. The engine's got around 150K. Also I noticed the clutch pedal button was missing the tab thingy to press in the button when you let go of the pedal, but I don't think that'll be anything because the car won't even crank. I'm getting 5V there at the button.

the clutch switch needs to be depressed if it is hooked up. it interupts the signal from your ignition switch. did you find the little tab on the floor? if you have it reinsert to block the hole in your clutch pedal.

I didn't find it but I put a tie wrap there to temporarily depress the switch when letting go of the pedal and it still didn't work. Could I have a faulty switch?

you should have a switch that is depressed when the clutch is pressed in. check that switch to make sure it is pressing all the way in. if it is and you think you have a bad switch, jump the two terminals together with a wire or paper clip and it should work. you did check both wires at the starter right? the big wire should be constant 12 volts and the little wire should be 12 volts when cranking.

Looks like It's in the wiring, others have told you ways to check it.
Test Clutch switch, ign switch, and hot at the starter spade clip with key in start position.....best bets-Bob
