Default My speedometer is on crack!

***EDIT*** Fixed the problem it was a simple 7.5 amp fuse. Alt/speed sensor

Today i was driving my car and the speedo started jumping around then wouldnt work at all. Its not the vss i changed it. Its not the cluster cause the ecu is reading zero miles per hour and it hits 2 step, even when im driving. I Cleaned to connection. Could it be the dizzy? what else could cause this?

Thanks
Derek

This happened to my other DC awhile ago, it ended up being the VSS plug, I cut another one off a teg at a junkyard and wired it up, plugged her in and it worked perfect..

Also, are you sure the VSS you put in works? I went through about 4 of them before I found a working one..

Try borrowing a VSS from a friends car that you know for a 100% fact that it works, if that fails, try rewiring a new plug on it..

I think it might be my altenator. I read a few threads on honda tech. And a couple of people had the same problem and it was their altenator. But they were also having problems with lights and what not. but my car will run hids, indash tv,amp, gauges and wideband with no problem. But if i turn everything off, but the wideband the speedo seems to chill out. And as soon as i turn somthing on it jumps. I think its probaly the alt.

changed the vss twice, i also put my hand in the vss hole, the gear felt fine. I dont think its that, because it jumps while the car is at idle, sometimes to like 60mph
