Default My new build..

Well, I'm not going turbo anymore, b/c I've just decided it was too expensive, and not for me.. And I'm getting an awesome deal on some stuffs..

98 gsr block, freshly hot tanked and honed, stock bore
new gsr water pump, new itr oil pump
Micropolished LS crank
Shotpeened LS rods w/arp bolts
USDM ITR pistons
acl high rev bearings
99 b16a2 head - stock
obd1 p72

Now, am I going to run into any problems with this, or is it going to go together like a normal oem build?

What's the point of swapping in the LS internals ? Personally I'd stick with the O.E. GSR running gear (the EM1 head is a upgrade though).

All motor, ls cranks make more power than gsr.

Ahh, just the man I wanted to hear from.. Will I run into any problems with piston to deck height or anything like that if I go by all OEM specs?

run ls rods and you will be fine. Be careful with the gsr block mounted oil squirters and make sure they clear the crank. You can bend them slightly for clearance if you run into issues just make sure they point at the underside of the piston.

Run b16a rod bearings, here is why:
On a stock ls engine the rod itself has a small hole in the shaft between the small and big end to squirt oil at the piston for cooling. Oil is fed through the main block oil galley through the crank main and out into the rod journal there is a hole in the ls rod bearing that lines up with the hole in the rod. This is how the oil makes it through the rod. In a stock ls this is kinda a ghetto oil squirter that I have serious doubts as to wether it works. B16a rod bearings fit ls rods perfectly but they don't have the hole in the bearing so no oil is squirted out the rod. This is a good thing since you will hold more pressure at the rod bearing and reduce the chance of spinning a rod bearing. In a stock ls motor with ls crank and stock rods it is debatable wether to do this or not. I prefer to do it. In your case I'd say run the b16a bearings definitely since the gsr block has oil galley mounted squirters that don't interfere with bearing oil pressure as much as the "bleeding rod" ls type.

Hope this makes sense. Good luck.

yup everything he said is good,BUT you will 99% need to modify the 1-4th cyl oilJet bolts.you will have to grind them down other then that enjoy the extra power

So VERY TRUE!!!!!! Jaso0on your not going to have this car long enough to start getting everything for the motor. and even if you do finish it, you'll trade the car before you ever get it tuned and running strong!!!!
