like i said before, i used to have an 89 teg and almost the same thing happened, i changed out the ecu... and it never done it again. i would check into atleast borrowing someone elses ecu... but wait, i have heard of another thing that could happen... if your gas cap goes bad it could build up too much pressure and not start cuz all you are getting is pressurized gas feums, but when the pressue eventually seeps out of the tank it will start up... i would check your fuel filter and your gas cap... and try the ecu thing too. good luck

cant borrow someone else's ecu, no one has this car that i know.

most likely we'll just ebay the damned ecu hoping it'll work.

 

does it start just for no reason? like without the keys in the ignition? That be spooky lol

 

Igniter,coil, and main relay...
These 3 things will cause your exact symptoms every time...

all are good especially the distributor, brand new.

i dont know if it was a freak occurance but i tried cranking it today, 3 times to no avail, then i put it in neutral and turned the headlights on and tried again and it started... weird, im going to try again tomorrow.. i bet it has nothing to do with it but the hell if i know! if it works it works!

 

try to replace the fuel injectors and fuel pump. the same thing was happening to me. try that also!
