Default HP loss update

Well, originally I was wondering why the compression was low and the HP was far below what the motor should've been putting out. The motor siezed up a few weeks ago and has been sitting. I finally got it out to disassemble. Bronze flakes = rod bearings = crank must be out of spec now = need new b18c5 crank. The pistons are siezed meaning possible rebore of block + oversized pistons.

Basically I'm wondering what the suggestion is here now. I spoke to Neal and he's gonna take it apart and look for me. I'd like to keep the R bottom end (bling factor y0). I have a few options now since crank and pistons have to be replaced. I was looking at a Crower stroker kit (crank, rods, pistons, rings) but Neal advised against it. Any ideas? N/A is the game. 210-215 whp is goal.

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.

Dr. Sutton mentioned this. Benfits of LS over R?

Not correct.

You can rev an ls 89mm stroke to the limits of your powerband i.e. 8900 rpms etc. You simply need the proper rod bolts on ls rods to do so.

If you decide to run oem pistons again, you will also have to remove 1mm of space from each side of the piston to run ls rods.

IMO, 89mm stroke is going to be fine for you.
