who ever said traction bars.....they are a waste of money IMO...all you need is a front end that isn't all loose and shit..good ball joints , good alignment. I had a guy tell me that he didnt need tracion bars and he runs 10.xx in the 1/4 with a hatch......


Slicks, Diff. a front end that dont move and some good mounts.

The only time traction bars are not worth it is when they are not setup properly and left at 0.

Traction on the cheap =

Good alignment , good ball joints , Slicks , Stuff as shit rear suspension , no power lol

So you're saying preload them? which will kill the bushings everytime u hit a bump?

Yes. And no problems with any bushings yet on three different cars. Maybe if the bushings are already worn then ...

Dont get me wrong alpha, I loved how mine worked out (even tho the difference in traction wasnt that much better). I loved the crisper steering and brake response more. However the fact remains that none of those traction bars contain correct geometry and the more they compress, the more they bind. And the fact that they use spherical bearings puts the load on your control arm's bushings.

if you put in stiffer bushings, u are only moving the problem elsewhere. If the bushings are rock hard, then the suspension will literally bind.
