just put a new motor in my civic dx,cx bottom end with a dx head and all the dx shit besides the old block and oil pan,new plugs,all the new fluids are in and everything,timing is on point.it wont run, i can sit there and start it and start it and it will turn over and never run...any ideas?

 

more info bro. you have spark? you have fuel? timing marks lined up? compression? check engine light? firing order checked? what have you checked and where are you at?

well id have to start somewhere.i replaced the plugs and it has spark.i had someone do the tming for me,and we did it about 6-7 times it sounds diff everytime like it could be off or something but when it was timed "correctly" which it probably was,i could start it but id have ot keep my foot on the gas about 1/4 throttle if not more to keep it running and it sounded way out of time or a mis-fire or something like that.

i was thinking the same thing,the is like a tiny ammount of smoke that comes up from under the distributor but i cant see if its coming from the head or what,or it could be just oil i had spilled.like i said,i dont know thats why im on here asking.

 

what do you know about the parts you used? miles on bottom end? head? overheated before?

 

do a compression check and let us know what numbers you have.

check your wiring. did you mix the map sensor and tps up? try that. this happened to my car
