yeah it does sound like compression, you might have fried a ring or bent a valve

 

IM thinkin bent valve off the dx head,so i picked up a new heasket and i have the dx head off and the cx head ready to with a new headgasket adn im gonna slap her on it and see whats good with that?should i just go ahead and use the cx manifold as well just in case it has to do with anyacuum issues oir anyhintg,just run the complete cx top end?

this may sound stupid but check the ground cable on the valve cover... i did a swap and went crazy trying to figure out why it wouldn't start up (for about a week) yeah it was the ground. sometimes the problem can be something very easy that you overlooked because you were thinking it was something way more technical.... start off with the most simple things you can think of, then work your way to the hard ones...g/l

 

Is this the head off your overheated engine? maybe its warped bad and wont seal causing no compression.

 

its a whole cx motor with my dx tranny and such and a brand new headgasket.im putting a timing belt on today and hopefully that will work.its just funny to me how you chime in on such the occasion.thanks for your input though!
