Question improve my d15

I have a 93 civic with a d15b7 and ive heard of putting on vtec head but know nothing about doing so. I would just swap it for a B-series but Ill never have the money. So if someone could help me out I would be gratefull. Even if you have other tips.

What do you want to improve? I rather enjoy the 40mpg I get in my hatch

If you want to go mini-me (VTEC head on that motor) I really think you're wasting your time. I'm assuming you want more power so in all seriousness, sourcing a different motor would be your best bet. d16z6 or b18a/b would be a very cheap solution. Just my 2 cents.

Good point. I didn't think of that. My buddy put a z6 intake manifold on his d15b with header/exhaust. It was peppy.

yea ull want an ex/si tranny...shorter gears...how much power are you lookin for? you can piece together a turbo kit for cheap and run 5-6 psi and that motor should be fine...would get it tuned properly tho...or if you want alittle extra bump every now and then spray a 55 shot or something...although i dont kno how those particular motors handle spray...other then that theres not much else you can do with those motors...

JDM D15B would be the way to go, along with a p20 lsd and P08 ECU. I got pretty much exactly the same fuel efficiency with this setup , as I did when i had the old D15B8 CX engine in my old EG hatch.http://www.hmotorsonline.com/shop/sc...age&item=30019 Call up steve he will take care of you. (cheaper then doing a mini me conversion imho)
