Yes, take it off and clean it with brake cleaner. And syncromesh is good, i have heard of it working. If it doesn't oh well its not that exspensive .

could also be a vacuum leak, thats what mine was.

u can get a used iacv for about $30 and def check your vaccum lines...my car was doing the same thing..droping about 500 rpm...replaced both now she runs good

I would try the syncromesh! I had a nasty 3rd gear grind, and now its totally gone! It's worth a try for sure!

Here's a simple test: take off ur IACv and plug the hole with ur finger or a piece of paper. If it stops fluctuating, it's ur valve. If it keeps doing it, u prob got a vacuum leak. I have a valve for sale from a B18. If ur IAC looks like the one below, and make sure it looks just like it, pm me and i'll sell u mine.

well actually if the car kinda acts like its "breathing" up then down up then down constantly, then it would be your tps (throttle position sensor)... try unplugging this and see if it stops acting up, i am almost certain this would be your problem

david buy a car slow ass and invest in a dohc so you can break the 100 hp mark ass face keep talking shit and ill walk your sohc in my dohc
