K, this is going to be long, but heres the lowdown on the car to maybe help someone diagnose it.. My friend trey was the owner of the car before g3t_sum and myself owned it, and when he had it the car was 100% completely quiet, the last night he owned it he sprayed a 75 dry shot on it, and it developed a small case of valve tap, so I though oh well you need to adjust the valves or something, he traded it to g3t_sum and frankie sprayed it a few times, still tapping and could never get it to stop..

I then get it, spray it, have a nitrous backfire, bend a valve and replace the head, tapping is still there, the valves weren't adjusted right when I traded it to george so I told him he may wanna do that, once he did that they got a little bit quieter but the tapping was still there.. which leaves us where we are now, I've never seen or heard anything like this but the car has good compression, holds good oil pressure, and has never left any of its owners stuck anywhere (hell I drove to jacksonville a few times, daytona multiple times, etc.)

Someone figure this out for george, that tapping is ANNOYING!!!

well i had it looked at today @ luxury auto tech and they are 110% sure it is number 1 cylinder piston slap possibly wrist pin or collapsed piston skirt
i wish i never traded my perfect running car + 300 for a car with piston slap, bad brakes, and no radio
i will personally fix this car and never trade again!

I've heard that car. Its not valve noise. I think it is bad piston slap or like stated above, I agree with them.

sounds to me like oil pump or maybe thrust washers are going bad with that crank, check pistonrings might even be flywheel releated

I agree with rangcrx. Replace the oil pump. If you have time drop the pan and everything to have a look at your bearings and crank. Couple hours work but worth it.

you knew better. come on valve tick, do a adjust next time then you won't be here. i mean 34 cars speak for itself he doesn't buy them to lose money and do favors. he buys them to beat them and trade them for a nicer running car. lol

If it was the oil pump the car would not have ran this long. You will have to do more than pull the oil pan. How much did you inspect when the head was off? How were the cylinder walls?

its number one cylinder the guy @ luxury auto showed me how to tell "long story wont get into it" but i looked at everything when it was apart that i could see like all the cylinder walls looked good so im hoping its a wrist pin and i can just replace that one piston
