Default hood problems

got a new hood latch for my car cause the other one was bent and didn't let the hood close....so now when i got it installed and closed the hood, perfect fit and closed beautifully....but now when i go to pop the hood, it doesn't pop or open or do anything....it's stuck closed....what can i do or go to get this fixed?

thanks...

seems to me the hood latch is adjusted to low and not letting the spring move.

Hold the hood down on the front while someone tries to pop it open....Once they pul the lever...pull up on the hood and it sholud let the hood free.

didn't think of that.....the other problem is that when i pull the hood release it doesn't go back in so i have to push it back in to close the hood or that was before it got stuck closed with the new latch thing.....do you guys think i should just redo the whole hood opening mechanism thing and how is this done.....cause it's pissing me off.....
