No H-series have steel sleeves, I've heard of others running coated CP/Weisco pistons and still having them fail, Mahle is the only company I've seen that clearly states you do not have to sleeve, there was even a build in HondaTuning where they toss them in an H22. OEM Type-S come in .25 os but that's as far as I'd go with stock sleeves. There are several members on here that could assemble the motor for you or if you're the DIY type, pick-up a Helm's manual for your 98 Prelude it covers tear-down and re-build, very useful book, should be your bible, lol.

who told you this? Per the Helms Service Manual you can bore .25 over and you can hone to remove scoring/scratches, you would only need to replace if your cylinder walls were so badly scored that even with a .25 bore and hone they were still present.

did you use MAHLE? if not, i dont really care. because i said mahle.

and IF they failed...oh well. I'm sure people running B series with cp's/srps/wisecos/je's/whatever forged pistons have had them fail too...it doesnt mean EVERY set will fail, or every engine, or whatever.

I personally won't build H motors if they are not sleeved. There is a very certain way to prep frm sleeves and most machine shops don't know how to do it correctly. As a builder it isn't worth the risk of having a failure and it being blamed on you.
