I washed my car tonight and and i had just put on a air filter my cold air intake. i drove out fine and everything ran good for a little bit and my car deffinatly wasn't smokeing and the after letting it idle for 5 min. i drove off from a stop and my car just boggs out so i was thinking i might have sucked in some water. still no smoke. now my car doens't go past 4000 rpm's and it takes forever to even get to that. i changed my oil and cleaned everything i could. did i maybe bend a valve or something. anybody know whats up? gimme some ideas.

 

How are your spark plug wires?

 

Disconnect the forward most fuse in the under-hood fuse box for a minute then try it, your ecu might be in limp mode.

 

checked the plugs, plugs are fine and i changed them not long ago.

 

Did you try pulling the ecu fuse? Is it throwing any codes?

 

na haven't checked that yet, but the check engine light isn't one either.

 

How about the fuel filter and fuel pump how are they?

 

actaully it might be the fuel pump. i got a check engine light today and the code read that i have a malfunctioning fuel system. code 43. so maybe its nothing to do with sucking in water from the post before. so it runs like shit, ideles rough and i have bad gas milage. any more ideas

 

Fuel pressure regulator, and fuel pressure are also check for vaccum leaks around the engine.

 

so if its code 43, its deff. your fuel. sooo...check all of your fuel stuff. injectors,regulator,pump,fuel lines...etc.

Also...do you smell any fuel?
