Hey Nate

Was going to answer your PM, but I'll do it here so everyone can hear my opinion/information.

First, Im sorry but I dont have the capability to do anything that large.

Second, Im not sure it will hold up very well, if someone is doing them. Standard powder coatings have a heat threshold. Most will handle 200-400f with no problems, but around the exhuast manifold, I would think it gets hotter than that. Powders start to loose gloss first, then color change is next.

Third, powder coatings can create a thermal barrier, not allowing the engine to disapate heat properly. While this is minimal, I would not want to have this done on a car that will be driven regularly. A show only car would be different, as the car is not driven much and never for very long.

This is mostly my educated opinion, but I know alittle about what Im talkin about. I have never heard of a block being coated, only components. And they will not hold up if they are attached to something that gets too hot.

If the motor was hot tanked, go and get a base engine primer(gray) and then choose a engine paint that fits your needs. I have a B16A2 block sitting in my garage(for sale ) that was painted BMW M3 Blue(the Sky Blue) I did it myself and it looks Clean as hell, take your time and you will be happy, I dont care for the silver paint, but colors tend to look a bit better. BTW dont paint the bolts or any other parts on the block that are not part of the casting, if you mask them off it give a bit more look to the block and shows you didnt go crazy with the can of paint
