Default bad shakes

ok TR heres the deal.. like 2 weeks ago i was racing another honda, and i went to shift into 2nd at 6500 rpm and whammy, the axle broke at the joint(pass. side). so next day i replace both axles, lower front motor mount(broke as well), and pass. side hub bearing... now i got this really bad vibration while accelerating, but when i push in the clutch or take my foot off the gas it is smooth as silk.. thinking maybe i got another bad mount, so i ordered the rest of them, any help/

i dont think breaking an axle would cause my tranny to fuck up. maybe im wrong though. thanks for the advice.. it broke at the joint where the hub is, not where the tranny is

Ive noticed changing axles can induce a vibration thats only under load. Is it one side or both?
Id suggest swapping the potentially bad axle with a different one...

Rev the engine at idle while looking under the hood. Bad mount and you will see the flex. Also, you could have broken the axle due to another problem. Now you have new axles and still have that problem. Clutch disc shreaded, grabbed metal and snapped your axel? Transmission had something pop? Hard to say just from you description. Need to do all the usual wheel speed, neutral, clutch in tests to see when and where you have the vibration.

if its in neutral and i rev it, its ok. if its in gear with the clutch in and i rev it,its ok. only on acceleration it shakes. balanced all my wheels, the rest of my new mounts will be here on monday. and i think the main reason my axle broke is cuz they were original(88 crx) and the boots were torn(where it flexes at the hub is where it actually broke at) i guess i'll have to get the rest of my mounts in monday at work and check it out then.. thanks for the help so far.

so basiclly what you saying is it only does it when its in gear....what is the most likely thing that it could be....

if it only happens while in gear that would be the tranny mount....not rocket science.....lucky its a honda its cheap....or whoever puts the axles in did a half ass job or if they were rebuilt the bearings could have took a dump on you.... do you hear a noise when you engage the clutch....?

Put the car on jack stands wth e brake on, start it up, engage first gear, find where the shake originates : axle unbalanced or joint badly placed during rebuild, hub bearing not pressed completely in or better yet beaten in with a hammer, tranny mount bad or if all looks good maybe internal tranny problem.

good luck
