What will happen if my vtec solenoid constanly stays open?

i have had problems geting vtec to engage even with 12v at idle.when i reved it to around 2k + then vtec would kick in with the 12v straight.So just keep that in mind.That threw me off for some time years ago.And yes,if vtec is open at idle it runs like shit.

im having the same problem as you and i cant figure it out. but the back of my vtec solenoid startin pouring oil out of everywhere n it does run shitty low and loss of vtec power when my vtec is suppose to engage. im tryin to figure it out too so if i can figure it out ill let u kno but i thought it was like water in my gas tank at first. this has been goin on for me bout 1 week n it never came across my mind that the solenoid could be stuck wide open. but im waiting fo info.
