Default Tire Size Question (Millionth Thread)

Well I searched first and all I could find regarding tire size was for 14's, 15's, 18's or whatever. I know I might get some laughs for this but I have 13" Old School ICW's and I need to know which street tire size would be best for them. As of right now, they have 185/70/13 on them but what would be a better size, that maybe looks better than the current ones?

Looks better? A set of 15" wheels

But are you looking for low profile or ride quality? Bigger tire = better ride, lower profile = harder ride.

Well the tires I have now are pretty thick, so the ride is ok. It just seems that I can never find a tire in my size that gets alot of traction in wet weather and a tire that will last a decent amont of time.

From the tire shop, I would find out how wide and low profile I could go with the rims I have.
If you have 70's, I would go lower to at least a 60 series, and try for just a tad wider than they recommend.
I would work on getting the car to corner flat, with the suspension adjusted on the performance side of stock, so the tires don't get eaten up..........and get the tire pressure right for your kind of driving.

Is the suspension stock? What have you done so far?-Bob

So I think I might end up getting 195/60-13's but not sure if they will fit on my wheels? Is there anywhere I could find out if they would work out? Dont have the car atm and was kinda hoping to have the tires ordered before the car is returned to me? Any advice would be appreciated. Here is a link to the ones that I liked so far http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....e1=yes&place=0

how wide are your rims? 13x6? if so then 195's should fit. i was running 185/60/13's on my stock steelies for a while, they werent too bad. if your rims are 13x6.5, you can cram some 205/60/13's on there.

See the thing is, I couldn't find any information anywhere about my rims. They came on the car when I bought them. The only time I have heard anything about them is when a friend told me they were called ICW "hammers" which are REALL old school rims. Also I have never had them off and measured. I guess I will have to wait until I get the car back.
