Always see people talking about how a Cometic headgasket lowered their compression and whatever.

Which cometic hg do i get? just the normal 75.5mm? or is there different thicknesses?

also, how do you know how much it lowered your compression? thanks

 

A 75.5mm headgasket would be pretty thick . Is this going to be for a Dseries build ?

i ordered the 75mm one, seeing how my z6 is 75mm. still have no idea about the compression and such though.

stock is in the .035" range , high boost is .043" ...... you get the idea

I don't know exactly how much it lowers the compression tho. I don't make it a habit of replacing headgaskets.

 

i dont either, thats why i got the cometic+arp's for security.

i was just curious, i dont really give 2 craps about my compression, it just makes me sound like i know what im doing

 

My friend just got his Cometic gasket for his JDM ITR. THey custom make them to whatever you want. His is made to lower his Comp to about 9:1. It was 200 Bucks tho.
Let me tell you...THAT MOFO IS THICK!!

It should be on his car in the next month.

 

You will be fine , people have held way past 14psi on stock headgaskets with no problems , headstuds/bolts are another issue though . These would obviously have to be addressed , I do not recall the z6's stock headgasket's thickness , been atleast a good 8months to a year or so since I have played with a honda.
