i have a d16 block, and a d16y8 head in my crx, runs great, but vtec wont engage. im running a vafc, and it was installed and tuned at cfm motorsports. (real good work by the way.) when i got the noid originally, it was not held together. so i took the three bolts off a z6 noid, and used those to hold my y8 noid together. i dont think that makes a difference, but anyway. any help would be great.

did the vtec solinoid EVER work when you had it?

not since ive had it, but it came off a car that ive been in, and vtec hit hard in his car when it was in his.

why did he take it apart befere he gave it to you?

check the solinoid with a test light. put it to the wire and rev the car to where vtec is set if it dont light up then its a bad one..
