Got a chance to work on my EK for a few hours today and accomplished quite a bit (imo). Removed the rest of the a/c and heating system, relocated the fuse box to the interior, removed my EK rear motor cross member and installed the EG unit, washed the car (its been awhile, lol) Removed everything from the underside of the dash that I will not need (air ducts, airbag brackets, etc). Started to mark what holes will be welded shut, hopefully I can start on that next weekend as well as removed the rest of the airbag b/s (I didn't have a star key on hand small enough to fit). And I'll try to p/u an EG or DC steering rack this week so I can throw that in next weekend as well. Here are some pics (what’s a tread like this without pics?!)

Car with dash removed (what a pia)

Heater core/blower/a/c out

Fuse box mounted on inside and firewall mat removed

Close-up on new Fuse box location, I MAY change location in the future. I'm having a carbon/kevlar piece made to replace the plastic piece that the a/c, heating and radio are usually mounted to (it will be a contoured piece but will be nice and flush). I may put this on hinges and mount the fuse box behind it for easy access. The battery will be mounted where the SRS unit currently sits.

Here's the engine bay minus the rear motor cross member and steering rack

Here are the two cross members, top unit is from an EG, bottom from my EK.

EG rear motor cross member installed in my EK, this will enable my motor to sit father back in the chassis, EG cross member was also lighter than EK.

left LCA is from EG, right from EK. They both weight a TON! Will be looking forward to the release of the OMNI forged aluminum front LCA's.

That's all I have for now.. Still looking for manual EG or DC steering rack, shoot me a PM if you have one. Will post more pictures next weekend.

I have a question. What does the dry ice on the interior do? Please explain.

I have a P/S rack from a 94 EG, but you probably want a non power one.

When removing the sound deadening material dry ice is the only way to go. You break the brick up into small pieces or even a power and sprinkle it over the sd material. It basically freezes the sd material and it pops right up. Makes it much easier to remove the trying to scrape it out or use a heat gun. Once its all out, you'll have a little residue left.. just use an adhesive remover and some elbow grease and you'll get it all up in about 1/4 the time it would take without dry ice.

As for the rack, correct I'm only interested in a manual rack.
