few things:

- The lack of "torque" rumor stemmed from the competition that the s2k has in its pricerange...mainly the g35/350z. yes compared to those cars, it does not have a lot of low end tq...which brings me to the next point

- They are not "slow"....bone stock it runs 14.2-14.0...this rumor stemmed from Srt-4 owners racing it and feeling like hot shit because they could keep up/beat the s2k from a roll.

My advice: get on s2ki.net as a few others have suggested and go test drive one.

The best engine in the world is the vagina, it takes any size piston, its self lubricating, starts with 1 finger, and every 4 weeks does its own oil change. It's just a pity the management system is so fucking temperamental.

I got mine for $18,2xx out the door... if you look, you can find some even cheaper. Good luck on whatever you decide to go with.

DONT get 1.... - I beat it bad be4....

with a mini-bike

No in all seriousness I have had the pleasure of driving the S2000 be4, as well as riding "bitch" with an experienced driver.. 4 donuts later in a bank parking lot, and a bunch a 9,000 RPM shifts --- lets just say i had a shit faced grin on me that didn't go away for awhile --that waz my first experience with this vehicle, and I can say that these cars are FUN, i don't think anyone can regret gettin one- though i do drive a 350Z a few times a week, I love both cars and supercharging either one is like putting extra sweet icing on a big fuckin cake

yup cool cool cars indeed

im amazed at how many people refuse to read directions clearly and completely skip the fact that they dont own an s2000 and that you asked for opinions from owners. heres my opinion (since i HAVE one, 2005 rio yellow pearl). i believe the opions of REAL owners are all that matters in a discussion like this, because only they have stuck through past the novelty of the car to see what it really is through all of it. i originally planned to pile thousands of dollars into this car. ive since changed my mind and im going to prob get an mkiv supra or something else, still considering options. to be honest i wish i never bought the car, for the following reasons;

it makes no bottom end power - this car is a droner on the bottom end of things, even after the .2l displacement bump. i have troubles keeping up with grocery getters not even speeding. from a stop light i have to push it just to keep up with traffic from a redlight up until about 4krpm in 1st, then again a bit in 2nd. its REALLY damn annoying. you know that feeling you get when you are in too low of a gear? the s2000 does that period, cuz it doesnt make enough power. unless you are above 4k you're fucked into the drone that most people only experience from being too high in the gears. the question is what can you really do about it from a dead stop in 1st without launching the fucking thing.

it uses too much gas - the car has low gearing to keep it in high rpms to compensate for its lack of bottom end power, so it gets horrid gas mileage. a stock ls1 equipped car gets better gas mileage and makes REAL power for your money. when im at 70mph on the highway in 6th im sitting at 4krpm, that is rediculous. this car should have recieved a v6

its too small - the car handles nice, ill give it that, but not nice enough to justify the interior dimensions that you have to live with on a daily basis. a c5 corvette handles better and weighs a couple hundred pounds more, and gives more interior room and a hair more trunk room. how much trunk room do i get? when i go grocery shopping i have to make 2 trips because i cant fit more than 1/2 a cart of grocerys in the trunk.

overall im very dissapointed in the car i purchased. it comes with a race motor but cant race competetively. its small motor should give it moderate to good gas mileage, but gives it worse than a v6 or v8. its supposed to out-handle most other street cars, but its REALLY not a street friendly car. overall you get a cramped car with shitty gas mileage that can BARELY beat a prelude with i/h/e, ask me how i know. its obvious why it doesnt carry the same resale value as other limited production cars like it do. some people might say its only a weekend car, but think about what other weekend cars you could get for your money. some might say its a purpose built car only for turns, but in reality you're putting up with its faults 10 fold the amount of time you're abusing its abilities, and that would be if you abused it ALOT. most people likely put up with it 100 fold for what they get in return in play time.

Ok calm down dick, I was simply sharing 1 of many expierences I had with the family member's S2000.. Dont get all fumed over that decision you made thats killin you now, I mean jesus you only have 2 posts and the other one your still bitching about your car...

Go cry or wine somewhere else, not on TR

*By the way your post isnt very helpfull, you only share the cons of the vehicle

To the guy who made this thread, keep in mind- the S2000 runs with the Porsche Boxster and BMW Z4 3.0i for thousands less.

Well, its good that you pointed out a few of the cons, but damn, if you dislike your S that much, sell it and get that Supra you were talking about... maybe you can fit more groceries in it... shit, while your at it, you could even drop the kids off at soccer practice.

Yeah I just wanted to let everyone know that I decided not to go with one simply because I'm still in love with del sols. I think I would have more fun getting to work on it and painting it and all that good stuff. but hey thanks for the info and oppinions.
