exactly but you deff should get a few compression tests ran before you spray to make sure your compression isnt too high lol but for numbers and such post up on Honda-tech but overall your right.

I know a guy who can do a compression test for you. but its not free..

dude i have a d16z6 so should i just drop the d16a6 the crx si bottom end will that help out better than a d15b7 and will the "d16z6 head;and the d16a6" mini me with dc sport headers ex tranny stage 3 clutch and 8pnd flywheel aem cam gear and an apexi1 exhaust, and short ram intake , at least get me to the 15s

I cant gaurentee you any times because i dont know how you drive.. Ive heard that the d16a6 pulles harder than most single cam blocks. Here are some gear ratios for trannys. your ex is good You should get a y8 head (more compression) and throw like a stg 1 cam in it.
CX/VX Transmission 46 - 85 - 140 - 175
DX/LX Transmission 37 - 68 - 102 - 132
EX/Si Transmission 35 - 60 - 91 - 126

so i should definatly go with the d16a6 okay i guess thats what imma do, now i have heard that you have to drill in a hole or something onto the block, is that true or do you just take out the oil squirter thing behind the middle screw of the block ============>imma pm you my number so you can just call me

ok i have had plenty experience with doing mini me swaps. first off decide what year car the motor is going into. you have to make sure that you have the right obd code or else you need a new wiring harness or converter. here is what my set up was in my car. pics in my gallery. its the black civic 4dr.

1995 d15b7 block:
jdm sohc vtec pistons and ls rods
hot tanked
block gaurd

1998 d16y8 head:
skunk 2 valves, springs, and retainers
skunk 2 stage 1 camshaft
3 angle valve job
head shaved .010
port and polish

1995 civic si tranny:
obx lsd
6 puck unsprung clutch with a 2step

other modifications:
dc 4-2-1 headers
dc sport shortram intake
full custom 2.5" exhaust to an apexi muffler
aem adjustable cam gear
true time aftermarket pulley kit
msd blaster coil
zex nitrous wet kit with nx 50 shot
zex spark plugs
apex-i vafc2
ebay short shifter
and other things im forgetting.


the car was quick ass hell. i ran a 13.753@103mph. with more seat time i could have done alot better i think. i could only imagine what it would have run if it was in a hatch? either way, if your serious about getting any power out of this than here is my advice. you wont see the performance you want unless you go the whole nine yards. you need to boost up the compression in the car so that means a nice set of forged pistons and rods and then worry about cam and other bolt ons. personally ive had this set up b4 and to tell you the truth, you can make more power out of having the complete d16z6 and it will save you alot of money. just my oppinion tho. one thing is for sure, nitrous would be great but realize that the dseries blocks are not that strong. gl with the build
