People forget they have a FWD at times

I dont want to run slicks because I dont want to run in Turbo 4, I want to run in the street tire class... I know I cam get better times with slicks, thats a givin. But the challenge is running almost the same times on Radials. And I was looking at the M&H's but the radials dont look likie something I can go around town and on the interstate with... Like I have been saying. I want the car to be just as fast OFF the track as it is ON the track or at least close to it... Everyone is diffrent. Me I need to have a car that performs well anytime anywere. And not have an excuse like "I cant race you because I dont have my slicks on" I got the nitto's because they last longer than most of the DR's out there. I have NO issues hooking on the street and I am sure that with the new setup it should hook just as well on the track..

BTW: I just did the Alignment/camber setup the day I installed the suspension/camber kits.. Thanks for all the input so far..

Oh and Matt I know what you are talking about with the launching technique you speak of. My best bet with that is a progressive boost controller, 20+PSI B4 the 60ft mark is nothing but trouble

then again are you gonna say hey hold on one second, let me repave the road, and spray it down with VHT.... the track is most of the time the ideal racing conditions, i dont care what street your on it wont hook as good unless you prep it like the track.... my moto is go as fast as you can on the track, and prove yourself on the street, i daily drive bfgs, sure there not slicks by anymeans, but with proper setup and feathering of the gas traction can be obtained, but even same tires and all youll never be as fast on the street as you are on the track, unless they start prepping and VHTing all public roads....

I couldnt agree more.._ But if all else fails I will ask for a roll J/K See its the exact opposite for me, On the track I cant hook for shit( to smooth ) and on the street I have no problems at all. Dont get me wrong, I love to go fast. I just had a plan when building this car. Keep it clean, Keep it FACTORY, with All the interior(what would fit with a cage), and keep it semi comfortable. And still run a nasty time for what it is. I will on the other hand be stripping the new build and running the biggest slicks that will fit and have it completely gutted(Race Car). But on this car everything is staying in it.... Its what I planned on and what will be happening thank for the replys

hehe. Right. Sorry man, but someone has been feeding you the wrong medicine. The track is by far the better condition over the street. The M&H drag radials don't have the life of the Nittos, but they hook way better and still have a decent tread life. I drove my car to the track, straight to the line and ran 10.92 on the street tire setup. If you want to run with the big boys, you have to set your car up properly to do so.....if not, you will be another insanecivicsedan...no offense Chris! Just that noshame has always had traction issues and has fostered the image of roll racing and that FWD cars do make mad power, but spin and go nowhere.

Not a personal stab, but you have some incorrect views on your setup that I am trying to help with.

Is a progressive boost controller really necessary? Cant you just give it about 75% throttle on launch so your not building full boost and hook up. Then once you get traction, floor it all the way and let the turbo do its thing.
Im not really experienced with launching turbo cars only n/a ones...This is what I do until I hook up. Maybe turbo cars are a little harder to modulate?

???? I would think that the track would be better than the street. But I am trying to tell you that on the track I have MORE traction issues than on the street. And I also said that I did not know M&H made radial street tires,(like the BF's and Nitto's) I thought all they had was DOT tires that were like 2 shakes from being a actual slick tire??? I was not challenging that fact, I just did not know of any tire they made like that..... The only reason I went for the nitto's was for the life of them. I sometimes use the interstate, and I think a TRUE DOT radial like the M&H would get tore up in that situation?? I dont know, I have never use them nore seen them used on the street like I would use them.. If they are better I will have to look into getting a pair

And as for the 75% throttle. The turbo is large and when it starts to spin a little it just keeps spooling. It would take LOTS and LOTS of practice to get the thing to slowly build boost off the line(60ft mark), And as stated B4 I have very little seat time with this setup at the track so far(to much work) But I will get it sooner or later..
